Financial Aid: Tobago Residents
The Tobago Financial Assistance Programme for Tertiary Studies
The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) provides financial assistance for residents of Tobago who experience difficulty covering the cost of tertiary-level studies. Assistance is provided for tuition (at local, private, and international institutions only), living expenses, books and other miscellaneous expenses associated with tertiary-level education.
Applicants must be citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, reside in Tobago and be enrolled in or accepted at a tertiary-level educational institution. One must fill out a Financial Assistance Application Form available from the Office of the Chief Secretary, Tobago House of Assembly and bring the original and two copies of each of the following documents to the Financial Assistance Unit office with the completed application.
- All certificates, degrees or diplomas you have earned.
- Two passport-size photographs.
- Birth certificate.
- A letter from your doctor (medical certificate) indicating your general state of health (less than 6 months old).
- Curriculum Vitae or resume.
- Course outline.
- Accreditation letter
- Transcript from last institution attended (in cases where students have begun studies, transcript should be from the present institution).
- Letter from school or institution stating annual cost
- Passport (pages 1-4 and 32).
- Letter of acceptance.
- Two character certificates (letters of recommendation), one of which should be from the head of the school or college last attended (less than 6 months old).
