THTI Student takes instruction

Our Faculty is divided into four main departments or teaching areas. This section will soon be updated with further details on course descriptions and lecturers. You can however see a list of the subjects taught under each division.

Food and Beverage Management Department

Courses under this department fall into two main categories: Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage Service. The former entails subject areas such as Food Preparation, Baking Technology, Menu Planning, International Cuisine Butchery, Sanitation, Safety & Hygiene, Food Science & Nutrition, Kitchen Organization and Food Art. Food & Beverage Service addresses topics such Bar Operations, Mixology, Cost Control and Food & Beverage Management.

Hospitality Management & Customer Care Services Department

Quality Customer Care, House Keeping Operations, Front Office, Travel Agency and Hospitality Marketing are the subject areas taught by lecturers under this department.

Business Management & Information Technology Department

Providing practical and theoretical training in the commercial side of tourism and hospitality, this department covers Business Entrepreneurship, Accounts, Marketing, Events and Conference Management, Hospitality Law, Economics, Management, Information Technology and Statistics.

Tourism Management Department

The Tourism Management section covers Tourism Planning and Policy, Sustainable and Eco Tourism, Tourism Marketing and Tour Guiding; while Tourism Product Development focuses on Facilities Design, Tours Design and Management and Resort Design and Planning.

Languages and General Education Department

Along with the languages of French, Spanish and German, this department oversees the delivery of foundation courses such as Mathematics, English and Communications, Caribbean Studies, Public Relations Skills and Sociology.
