Our Administrative Staff
Administration & Finance
Headed by the Chief Executive Officer, this department oversees and provides direction for our organisation. Managing and co-ordinating the various duties of all departments, the CEO’s office ensures the smooth running of daily operations, as well as the execution of special activities and functions as they arise.
Support is provided by the office of the Chief Financial Officer (C.F.O) who offers financial planning and advice, monitors expenditure and projects and invests revenue within the relevant policy framework. The C.F.O also co-ordinates the purchasing, storage and dispensing of all stock, from sugar to scissors.
Human Resource
Human resource is the most valuable resource of any organization and this department provides support to all members of staff, ensuring a hospitable, safe and sanitary working environment. Matters such as recruitment and staffing, HR policy development, training, community communications, welfare, health and safety and the like are the responsibility of this section. It also provides critical assistance to the C.E.O.’s office in maintaining a culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance.
Engineering & Appropriate Technologies
The maintenance of our beautiful campus grounds, buildings, vehicle upkeep and repair, construction and the cleanliness of our offices are just some of the activities that fall under this division. It is also responsible for managing information technology services for staff and students, THTI’s local area network and our online presence. This department is committed to providing all the necessary support services that maintain the Institute’s operational efficiency.
Information Resource Centre
Together with our Faculty department, the Information Resource Centre serves as the brain: - the knowledge store, of THTI. Periodicals, newspapers, reference text books and more are managed by the Information Resource Specialist and her staff.
Open at convenient times throughout the semester, students have access to a wide range of material, which can be used to complete assignments and supplement what is learned in classes and through prescribed texts. They also provide photocopying and printing services.
Marketing & Communications
The small and hardworking Marketing & Communications Department is headed by the Marketing & Communications Specialist. It’s the face and voice of the Institute and is responsible for all external communication: be it in printed, electronic or audio-visual form. The main focal areas of responsibility for this department are recruitment, revenue generation through event hosting and management of our Institute’s fine image.
